Discover the elegance of French patisserie and learn how to create beautiful, seasonal fruit tarts in our immersive workshop in South Shields, North East England. This three-hour class is perfect for anyone looking to master the art of creating a stunning fruit tart with a crisp, buttery base, rich crème pâtissière, and fresh, vibrant seasonal fruit.
In this practical, hands-on session, you’ll begin by learning how to make the ideal pâte sucrée—an irresistibly sweet, buttery tart shell that’s light and flaky. Our expert team will guide you through the process of combining flour and butter to achieve the perfect dough, then show you how to roll, shape, and line your tart tin to perfection.
While your tart shells bake, you’ll move on to creating a luxurious vanilla crème pâtissière. This rich, smooth French custard is thickened to the perfect consistency and makes an ideal filling for your tart. You’ll learn essential techniques such as whisking, tempering, and making the custard stable for a velvety, professional finish.
The highlight of this class is the final step—decorating your tart with a beautiful arrangement of fresh, seasonal fruit. You will learn how to arrange your fruit artistically and finish your tart with a light glaze for that signature patisserie look.
At the end of the workshop, you will leave with your individually crafted, stunning seasonal fruit tarts to enjoy at home. You’ll also take away recipes and techniques to recreate this delightful dessert in your own kitchen.
