About this experience

Celebrate New Year’s Eve at The Canny Chocolate Company

Join us for an exclusive, hands-on New Year’s Eve experience at The Canny Chocolate Company’s chocolate factory. Your experience starts with champagne on arrival before diving into the world of chocolate-making.

What You'll Be Creating

Under the guidance of Kevin, with the champagne flowing you will craft 24 luxurious Marc de Champagne chocolate truffles by piping the ganache, capping them off before hand rolling and dusting each one with a gold lustre for that special New Years sparkle! You will also create your own decadent chocolate bark topped with flavours and inclusions of your choice perfect for breaking up and sharing on the big night. Finally you will carefully hand pipe and decorate a selection of chocolate mendiants. Ideal to serve after dinner or just after midnight if you wish! You’ll then carefully package up your creations to take home and enjoy long after the day is over.

Wine Tasting & Chocolate Pairing

Your experience continues with a guided tasting of three carefully selected French wines, paired with our finest Valrhona chocolate highlighting the incredible synergy between wine and chocolate. You will be guided through the correct way to taste wine and appreciate the delicate flavour pairings.

Cave de Tain 'Les Blasons' Crozes-Hermitage 2020/22

A deep rich red wine enhancing the deep cocoa notes of our 70% Valrhona Guanaja dark chocolate. This wine is crafted on the banks of the Rhone river just up the road from where Valrhon is made in Tain l'Hermitage.

Domaine du Vaux St Georges Sauvignon Blanc 2022/23, Touraine

The bright acidity and citrus notes of this wine from Touraine balance the creamy sweetness of Valrhona's Jivara milk 40% chocolate making for a refreshing and well rounded pairing

Mythral Rosé 2023, Côtes de Provence

Celebrating the hallmarks of the south of France landscape, we'll be pairing this wine with Valrhona's Ivoire white 35% chocolate and Valrhona's Dulcey blonde 35% chocolate. With flavours of red berries, white peach and citrus the pairing is exquisite.

With only six places available per session, this exclusive, three-hour event is a wonderful way to celebrate with loved ones or as a special treat for yourself. Book your place today for an unforgettable New Year’s Eve of indulgence and creativity.

Important Information - Please Ensure You Read This Prior To Booking

This is a very practical hands on workshop. You will work individually to create your chocolates under our teaching, supervision and guidance. Our workshops are a held in a shared group setting with no more than 6 other participants.

If any participant has any allergies or dietary requirements you MUST advise us in advance of making a booking. We operate an open working kitchen where we handle many allergens. If in doubt, please check with us in advance.

We will be serving carefully selected alcoholic beverages to compliment the experience. Please note that while drinks will be provided, they will be served in moderation. Additionally, for the safety and enjoyment of all attendees, anyone arriving under the influence of alcohol will not be admitted to the event. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate will be available too.

Participants must be 18 years of age or older. Unfortunately we do not have space for spectators. We also don’t allow babies, toddlers or pushchairs in the kitchen.

Personal belongings should be kept to a minimum.

If you require disabled access you must contact us in advance to discuss your requirements so we can ensure we can accommodate due to the space restrictions in our kitchen.

As we open up our production space for shared workshops we have an extremely high standard of hygiene, health and safety at The Canny Chocolate Company. Every workshop participant must wear an apron and hairnet (these are provided).

You will need to stand for up to three hours. However, if you require seating, a limited number of stools are available.

Please arrive no earlier than 10 minutes prior to the start of the workshop and allow up to 3 hours for your chocolate experience.

Participants must adhere to all the instructions set out for a safe and enjoyable experience.

If you want to gift this experience, please ensure you purchase a space on the experience and not a gift voucher due to the limited availability and time frame.

Once you have booked your experience it is not possible to reschedule or cancel it. Please consider this when booking. Especially during busy times of year, we will struggle to re-schedule your chocolate making. We can't make refunds once your class is booked. Shared workshops require a minimum number of chocolate makers. In the unlikely event that this is not met we will contact you to re-arrange and we will always find an alternative.
